Charles M. Meyer Entrepreneurial Scholarship Award.
If you know any senior at Oakville High School who has a true entrepreneurial spirit, make sure you tell him or her to apply for the Charles M. Meyer Entrepreneurial Scholarship. If chosen, they'll receive a $1000 scholarship that can be applied to the college of their choice.
Entering is easy - and now's a great time to fill out and mail the application well before the March 31st deadline arrives.
Now in its third year, the scholarship was designed to recognize the same entrepreneurial spirit that guided Charles M. Meyer when he started an independent insurance agency in 1972 in his own name. In the years following, Charles devoted much of his time to serving the community, including a position as President of the Mehlville School Board and as a founding member of the South County Chamber of Commerce.
Today, that same entrepreneurial spirit continues at the agency, led by Christine Meyer Blood who took over the business in 2010 when Charles retired. According to Christine, "It takes a special kind of person to be an entrepreneur. We want to encourage that spirit and hope this scholarship will help on their journey."
